Trip Prep

I swear I'm not sheltered, but this amazing Asia trip will be my first time out of the country! Of course, that statement would be a lie if I included a nutty trip across the border to Tijuana where I rode an electronic bull and was forced to drink watered-down Quill--but I've omitted that from my mind as true foreign travel.

I have been across the United States and love road trips with friends and family, especially if it involves listening to Howard Stern, eating Bugles and relieving yourself behind a rest stop restroom because the bushes are just cleaner.

What I'm looking forward to most on this trip involves learning about a culture I know little about. My interest in Southeast Asia started my sophomore year in college when I took an anthropology course on the region--I was indeed hooked. It's what I look for in all the places in the country I have travelled: the culture and pulse of a locale.

As Saturday draws near, I will slowly start packing ONE large suitcase that will be my closet for the two week adventure. I'll have a camera and a small backpack, too. I'll leave my laptop at home, which means I cannot blog throughout the trip, but maybe someone will bring one and I can stay current that way.

See you all soon...JB

I plan on shooting quite a bit, so I'll have my laptop if you would like to use it :)
